Top-Up coverage

Top-Up coverage allows you to purchase coverage for extra days if:

  • You already bought a Multi-Trip Plan from Manulife.
  • You bought a similar product (often called an "annual plan") from another insurer.
  • You have emergency medical coverage through your credit card provider and/or employer.

For example, suppose you bought a Multi-Trip Plan with up to 10 days of coverage per trip. However, during your period of coverage, you planned a trip for 15 days. In order to have emergency medical coverage for the whole 15 days, you can purchase a Top-Up from Manulife for the 5 extra days of that particular trip.

If you would like to buy this product to add to the coverage on an annual plan from another insurer, or to travel insurance provided by your credit card provider, it is your responsibility to confirm that top-up coverage is permitted on your existing plan and any terms and conditions that may apply as a result. The Top-Up Plan has all the benefits of the Single-Trip Emergency Medical Plan.

Visitors to Canada

Do you have visitors coming from another country? Canada does not pay for hospital or medical services for visitors. The Government of Canada recommends that visitors get health insurance to cover any medical costs. You can help them and yourself with the financial protection of a Visitors to Canada Plan. Also, if you or someone you know is going to apply for a Parent or Grandparent Super Visa, this plan meets the mandatory Super Visa insurance requirements.

Single-Trip

Helps cover many expenses related to a medical emergency for visitors while in Canada, including:

  • Emergency medical attention
  • Ambulance transportation
  • Emergency medical return home
  • Expenses related to the insured's death
  • Paramedical services, like licensed physiotherapists, chiropractors, podiatrists and more
  • Emergency dental treatment
  • And much more

You can choose from one of 5 maximum coverage amounts: $15,000; $25,000; $50,000; $100,000; or $150,000.
